Tarot readings based on your text or your question

Ask a question about your story and draw a major arcana card for free. The card shows its meaning and a concrete narrative prompt that turns the symbol into a scene, a decision or a conflict.

The arcana work as narrative forces: the Fool opens an exit, the Tower brings down what was built and the Hermit forces a retreat in order to understand. They leave the writing to you; what they add is a constraint you wouldn’t have chosen.

From one card to a full spread

  • Three-card spread: origin, conflict and resolution.
  • Celtic Cross: ten positions, useful for a whole novel.
  • A narrative interpretation connected to a real passage from your manuscript.

For building characters

An arcanum assigned to a character gives them their function and their shadow at once. The Empress who protects also smothers; the Magician who solves problems also manipulates. That double face is what separates a character from a role.

How to use the Tarot for writing

  • Ask about forces. “What do they want?”, “what’s blocking them?” or “what changes?” give you more material than a yes-or-no question.
  • Read the position. A card means something different as the root of the conflict, an obstacle, a possibility or a consequence.
  • Turn the symbol into action. A reading is useful when it ends in a visible decision, a scene or a relationship that changes.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know Tarot?

No. The tool explains the meaning of each card and turns it into a practical narrative action. The public draw works with the twenty-two major arcana.

What’s the difference between a classic and a narrative reading?

A classic reading gives the traditional meaning of each card. A narrative reading translates it into a plot function: what role that card would play as a turn in your story.

Is my question stored?

The free draw happens in your browser and your question goes nowhere. With an account, your spreads are saved to your reports so you can reread them.
